Method 2 (Updated Article January 2014 for Win 8/8.1 both):

                                                

1. Install the MMX modem application in compatibility mode as above, then restart your system.

2. Next go to your installation folder as:
x64 bit OS –> C:\Program Files (x86)\MMX353G 3G USB Manager\Driver\Win7_64
x32 bit OS –> C:\Program Files\MMX353G 3G USB Manager\Driver\Win7_32

3. copy the file cmnsusbser.sys and paste it to C:\Windows\System32\drivers folder do replace if any older version is already present. Better save the older file before replacing it with new one.

4. Now, go back to installation folder and simply:

• right click cmnsmdm.inf and click install,
• then right click cmnsser.inf and click install.

5. So its done then,  only note that you must open the application from the desktop icon. Enjoy your MMX 3G modem in windows 8.1. Have fun guys.

Method 1 (Older Method works fine with Windows 8/ 8.1):

                                        

1. uninstall the software if already installed.

2. open the modem in new windows and set its ( modem_installation.exe and show_modem.exe ) compatibility to windows7 then  press OK.

3. Now install the software , then restart the system .

4. Connect the modem and start the software ( it shows no device ) then exit the application from the task manager .

5. Open the Device manager ( control panel > Administrative tools > Computer management )

6. Go for Other devices , simply uninstall all the drivers related to modem there (better uninstall both with or without yellow mark)

7. Go to Action menu and click on Scan for hardware changes .

8. Now simply open the MMX usb manager and it works fine.

How to Connect Micromax MMX353G USB Modem in Windows 8/ 8.1

First, install the latest device driver for Micromax MMX353G USB dongle. And Close the Micromax USB manger from desktop and exit the Micromax MMX353G USB dongle completely from system tray (right click and choose exit).

Then, go to C – Program Files – MMX353G USB Manager – Driver.

Locate the file “InstallDriver.exe” and run it. After installing the driver, restart your computer and open “MMX 353G USB Manager” from desktop.

Open Device manager (just start typing device manger from Windows 8 start screen), and expand “Others”. Uninstall all “USB modems” listed that has a question (?) mark.

If “Others” isn’t listed, expand “Port” and uninstall the following:

1. Device Application Interface.

2. Device Diagnostic Interface.

3. Device Pipe.

Now, right click device manger name and click “Scan for hardware changes”. Start the MMX 353G USB Manager. The software will detect the modem and now you are ready to connect.

Bookmark Bar

Clover also gives you a bookmark bar on which you can organize and execute .exe files from the bookmark bar. You can also group programs in folders and navigate program shortcuts with ease.
As an example, we’ve created this ‘Favourites’ folder below. You can store the locations of folders such as ‘My Documents’ and ‘My Pictures’ and even launch programs with it – launch the last link you see in the shot below to run iTunes.

Clover Keyboard Shortcuts

Just like Google Chrome, Clover works with many basic shortcut keys to help you navigate better and faster through your tabbed folders.

Shortcuts	Description
Ctrl + N	Open a new Clover window.
Ctrl + T	Open a new tab.
Ctrl + W	Close current tab.
Ctrl + Shift + T	Re-open last closed tab.
Ctrl + D	Bookmark current folder.
Ctrl + Shift + D	Place all opened tabs into a bookmarked folder.
Ctrl + Tab	Switch to next tab.
Ctrl + Shift + Tab	Switch to previous tab.
Ctrl + Shift + B	Enable or disable bookmark bar.

These are shortcut keys that most users know intuitively.

More Tips

Here are a few more tips to help you become an ultimate Clover user.
Clicking

• Double clicking on a tab closes the tab.
  
• Middle clicking (mousewheel click) on tab closes the tab.
  
• Holding Ctrl while double clicking on a folder opens that folder in a new tab.
  
• Right Click on a folder and pressing E opens the folder in a new tab.
  
• Middle clicking (mousewheel click) on a bookmark opens the location to a new tab.

Dragging

• Dragging folders to the bookmark bar bookmarks the folder.
  
• Dragging folders to the tab bar opens it in new tab.
  
• Dragging folders onto an existing tab replaces that tab with the dragged folder.
  
• Dragging a tab outside of the current window opens it to a new window.
